Day One and beaches!

Okay, I have to start this with a statement.

Dearest Class of 2013, you will be sorely missed.

That is all.

So I got to go to Emily's senior recital the other week. (It was a week that I didn't blog, so I'm sticking her in here)
She played lovely and sang even lovelier.
This girl, my friends, is going places.

Then, a fantastic grad party for three of my dear seniors (That's right- a three-in-one - smart, right?)

And then yet one more.

Please enjoy this lovely after-swimming shot of Kirsten, myself, and Nikita at Brent's grad party.

Yep. Definitely gonna miss that bunch.

Anyways...

Wanna guess what I did on Monday?
Okay, I'll tell you.

I started recording!!

It's highly possible that you were unaware of the fact that I am a songwriter. But, alas, I am!

So Monday was Day One of this recording process.

It's a lot of hard and frustrating work, but it's fun!

My music :)

Behold, ladies and gentlemen, the man of magic. This is Tim. He makes me sound good. :D

And this is Tim's daughter, my dear Rachel!

The rough mix of my song! Four hours and we still have a lot of work to do...

Tuesday found us band officers sorting music in the band room.

HARK! A Nikki in her natural habitat!

But all work and no play makes a very dull life, right?
Tom, Gabbi and myself all loaded up and went to the beach afterwards!

Oh, and Tom bought me a pineapple. We named it Blueberry.

Why? Because we're kinda Psych fans... and the season finale is tonight!!!

Amish ice cream? I agree Gabbi, good idea!

Today's been pretty chill. I just finished watching Thor for the first time (behind the times, I know) and now I can't wait for the sequel!

Well, have a lovely Wednesday my friends! I shall hopefully see you again very soon!!
But until then, enjoy this lovely picture.

Come, let us sing together

HAAAALELUJAH! HAAAAALELUJAH!!
Because I am officially done with my Junior year of high school!
I know right? It's amazing!
I've actually been done for a week, but graduation was only two nights ago.
So let's rewind to Monday, shall we?

How did I start my first day off? By sleeping in (until 6:45) and making two-ingredient pancakes!

Yum, right?
I put some natural peanut butter on top and mmmmmmmm I was happy!

Fast forward two days.

Me, Cara (a friend of mine), and Cuz (my lovely-with-child choir director) loaded up in her mini van and headed over to West Palm Beach!
Now, that's a boring 4 hour ride right there.
Good thing I put Pride and Prejudice on in iBooks.

Seriously, this book never gets old! I always find it a tad hard to read, but the story is sooo worth it!

Anyways.
After we got there, we threw our stuff in our hotel room and went to dinner. We had Thai for dinner, and met Cuz's roommate from college.

(Cuz also finds it entertaining that I take pictures of random things. And her.)

After dinner we decided to do some "research" at the movie theater.
We saw The Great Gatsby. It was "research" because our marching band show for this year is the 1920s! But more about that later...

The movie was really good, but it was late when we got out. We hit our beds back at the hotel and went to sleep.

The next morning we woke up... eventually. We were staying at an Embassy hotel, so we had custom made omlettes for breakfast! I put onions, tomatoes, and cheese in mine. It was officially delicious. :)
Then it was on to the college search!
This time it was Palm Beach Atlantic University. Cuz graduated from there, so she (of course) helped give us the tour!

My own parking spot! But Cara had her own too and we kinda found hers first :)

For lunch we went to a local Cuban cafe. We all got Cuban sandwiches and banana milkshakes. They were amazing.

We then drove by (but didn't go to) the beach!

I took a picture of the beach. (Hang on this is going somewhere I swear)

Then I put it in this lovely app called Snapspeed and did THIS to it...
Then put it into the Photolettering app and threw some Switchfoot lyrics onto it!

Voila! My current background!!
Awesome, right?
Okay, so back to the band show and such.
So at the end of my last post I asked your opinion on drum majors...
Well, that's because I knew something that I couldn't exactly post here yet.
But I can now!
Cara and I are both drum majors for our band!
So this was a college trip/drum major bonding trip. And it was much fun!

Look! More picture editing!
I made myself a smoothie the next day.
We had been talking about smoothies in the van on the ride home, so I was kinda craving a smoothie.

We also listened to the soundtrack for The Drowsy Chaperone. It's a really good (and really funny) musical. If you like fun musicals, you should check it out.

Behold: a totally random picture of me and Nikki showing some Twin Love to each other.

Now onto the fun stuff of last night:
Tom and I went to see Aaron Gillespie. Formerly of Underoath and currently of The Almost, he also leads worship in his free time. And that's what he did last night.

How cool is Aaron? So cool that he tears down and sets up his own stuff!

Oh and then we got a picture with Aaron.

(Cue fangirlish screaming)
:D :D :D
Guess who's really happy about this?

Well, now you're all caught up! I'm free now, so I WILL be updating more often!
Until then, DFTBA and look at this awesome picture of Nikki, Cara and me!

Wonderful Wednesdays

Howdy Hey my lovely followers!!
Where to begin...
Ah. At the beginning would be a good place to start.

A group of kids from my school have been meeting once a month to do a service project. We call ourselves Students of Service, or SOS. We built a memorial two weeks ago Saturday. Only four of us could make it, but it was a good way to finish SOS projects for the year.

Yep. Hardcore work was done that day, despite Gabbi's photobombing.
My parents got Amazon Prime a few months back, and it's seriously the best thing ever. Free next day shipping has now changed my life.
How have we decided to spend it?
Ordering the 25th anniversary editions of Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.
Ohhhh yeah!!

But was that the best part of last week?
Oh no.
Because SOMEBODY in my precal class deicded to zip tie my backpack to my chair while I was out of the room. Thanks Brian. Really appreciate it.

Now, this may say something about me, because I didn't notice it for a solid thirty minutes.

Our Chambers family met for our last "practice" of the year. And by practice I mean we had breakfast together at Panera. These are some of the awesomest people, and I'm really gonna miss this crew next year. Out of the twelve of us, only four will be left. :(

So one of my friends had a photoshoot/party last Friday night. We had a blast!! It was fun, and I got to hang out with a bunch of girls I haven't been able to be around, due to scheduling and such.

Nikki, Me and Jen!!

This is the finished product! I was totally rocking my high-tops and sparkly fedora! :D
The photographer was awesome and made sure we all had fun taking our pictures!

Then I got to go home and
YAY!
Clean my room.

So I organized all my t-shirts by color. :)

BOOM.
Awwww yeah! I'm pretty proud of that myself. :)

So this week is concert week around the Fine Arts department.
The middle schoolers had their Tuesday night, and we have our Friday night.
That means that the band officers got to load up the band trailer and tote the instruments over Monday after school!! We all hitched a ride with our drum major, Megan (who's a senior and graduating in two weeks and I'm going to miss very much!!!).
Please take this time to appreciate the picture of our touring group and my derp face.

Awesome, right?

Ready to hear about something totally awesome?
Okay.

There's this program called the Honor Flight. It's this organization that flys World War 2 veterans up to Washington D.C. for the day and takes them to see all of the monuments and memorials, especially the World War 2 memorial.
My grandpa got to go on Tuesday. Since they require the veterans to have a companion with them, my dad got to go too! It was a really cool (and apparently really wet) experience for them both!

What they don't tell the veterans is that there's a welcoming party for them at the airport.
It was so cool to see all of these people, some of whom have no relationship with any of the vets, cheering and thanking each veteran for their service.

You should definitely go see if there's any flights in your area and go to the airport when the vets get back- it's an amazing experience!!!

My grandpa!!!

On a lighter note, Amazon Prime made my day once again. I got the Prince of Egypt soundtrack and DVD today. This is seriously one of my favorite movies ever. The soundtrack is amazing, which is to be expected since it's done by Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Caribbean) and Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Wicked). Needless to say, I'm pretty happy.

And I got to see some old friends of mine today!!! I can't complain about life right now. It's treating me pretty awesome.

Hope it's treating you the same!!!

Question of the Post: What's your take on drum majors??
