IT'S HERE!!!

Spring Break, of course!!!

Finally!!

I know, I'm a little late on that one. But I've been busy... really busy.

In face, I'm just doing a little check-up with you guys to say hey!

Sooo... Hey!!

I promise, there'll be some epic posts soon... but I'm too busy adventuring right now.

If you do want to see what I'm doing right now though, follow me on Instagram!! Why? Because it's a lot easier to post single pictures than write up an entire blog post. And because I enjoy layering filters. :D My username is sarahcatesmiles.

So, I have to get back to doing my homework now. That's right. Homework on Spring Break.
Yeah...
not cool. Not cool at all.

So you continue to be awesome, and have an awesome Spring Break! If you're currently on Spring Break, that is. If not, then be awesome and make this week awesome!!

We Are SO CLOSE!

Why hello!
Dear readers, please mark this as the day that you learned not to trust me when I say I'll blog again on Monday. It is now Thursday. Shame upon me, I know.
Hey, you try taking 2 AP classes and a Dual Credit while trying to blog about it.
It makes things interesting, to say the least.

ANYWAYS, I promised pictures from Jen's guard competition. Here you go!

This is our A Guard, the one Jen (and a bunch of other cool kids!) are in. Their show this year is "Pay It Forward" (yes, like the movie) and it's all about doing good things for people without expecting anything in return. It's really cool and really good.
By the way, they got first at their competition this weekend. So did our middle school guard.
Yay A and B Guard!!!

Kirsten, Brent, and Tom all showed up to support the guard too!

And of course, the totally fab trio:

Now I get to introduce you to one of my favorite things in the world: Mookie's Kettle Corn.

(cue angelic sounds)

This is seriously the best stuff ever. They come around during marching band season, and pretty much the entire band freaks when we see them. They make their kettle corn FRESH. ON SITE. IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES. So it's all nice and warm! Their prices are really good too. Only 6 bucks for a huge bag.

*sigh* Ah, Mookie's.

So after guard finished, me and the Parental Units had to hit the road because we had tickets to a Chris Tomlin concert. The concert started at 7, but we got there at 5, and the doors didn't open until 6.
So we just kinda hung out in the car and ate dinner. I decided to chill out in the trunk. It's pretty roomy back there.
(My view)

Only problem with hanging out in the trunk? I had trouble getting out.

I may or may not have gotten stuck...

That's right. Me and my mom have matching shirts. That we wear in public.
BOOM.

The concert started with Kari Jobe, who, by the way, has this awesomley amazing voice. Don't believe me? Go look up her stuff on YouTube.
Also, she has the cutest puppie ever named Hippie.

And then there was a disco ball. And a DJ.
How many Christian concerts do you go to where they have a disco ball and a DJ?
Not many, right?

It was pretty awesome. Go check it out here.
Here was the arena it was in. It seems small when it's lit, but it's larger than it seems. Out seats were on this level, but directly in front of the stage.

On Sunday we started planning for our road trip. The Parents both had their laptops, and what did I get? A map, some paper, and a pen. Low-tech for the win!!

So yesterday in Physics we made ice cream, and then in Spanish we had chips (with salsa, guacamole, and queso) and did Zumba!

My friend's mom teaches Zumba (apparently), so she came in and taught us some dances.
It's so much fun!
Me and Nikki were working up a sweat, and my legs still hurt. But it's the good kind of pain, the "yay I actually did some exercise!" pain.

So, yeah, that's about all for now.

Stay awesome!

Well Hello There!!!

I know, I know, I haven't posted in a while. I'm sorry! I've been super busy this week! The school quarter ended last week, and this week I've been swamped with homework. But it's okay, I'm here now!!!

So, to recap, I had a half day last Friday, which I spent watching middle school choirs and having an awesome time jamming with Tom. You know, this guy?
Yeah. He's a pretty killer guitar player. Just so you know.

Anyways, Saturday was a bunch of fun... kinda.

This lucky duck got to take the SAT that morning!! Which would have been fine, but I had woken up with a crick in my neck (or a crink... depends on who you are or where you're from) that REALLY hurt. So I got to keep a heating pad on my neck all day. Including that night...

At out super-fancy-totally-awesome school banquet!
AAAAT The Yacht Club!

Our jazz ensemble, the one affectionately referred to as Little Chambers, was asked to perform a few songs. So we did!

...But we also had to get there at 3 and the banquet didn't start until 7. So what did we do?

Well, we practiced... kinda.

Then we sat down to a Chambers family meal!

My, we're a good looking bunch.

And then we hit the game room that we discovered...

I decided that I would try to beat Emily in Guitar Hero.

My mistake.

APPARENTLY, just because you can play an actual guitar doesn't mean that you're gonna rock at Guitar Hero.

Yeah guess who got the 7? (Here's a Hint: It wasn't Emily)
About 3/4 of the way through the song, I discovered that you have to strum as well as hit the notes...
Okay, to my defense, Emily had three brothers.
That's all I've got.

Walked into the stairwell to find Graham practicing his bass.

Our good-looking Chambers family - including Mama Cuz!
(By the way: Remember the last post question? It's a boy!! Yay Mama Cuz!)

So on Sunday everyone in band aand choir congregated at school to head out to do this concert at a local Salvation Army (Okay, show of hands- who knew that Salvation Army actually had churches? If your hand isn't raised, you're welcome, there's your fun fact for the day!)

Bus #1 (AKA The Big Loud Bus)

Bus #2 (AKA The Small Quiet Bus)

And, lest you get any thoughts that Salvation Army people are boring, here's something to disprove that...
Seriously. Best. Sign. Ever.

After we got all practiced, the lovely people there fed us! That's one of the perks of being in a band/choir.small ensemble: when you get asked to do something, you usually get fed. Pretty nice deal, if you ask me.

Us warming up (that's right-the band kids sing too!)

It was a really fun night! The Corps we were at recorded the whole thing and uploaded it as a podcast. (Skip ahead to 28:58- 33:30if you want to hear my clarinet solo in concert band, then I have a clarinet solo in jazz band at 48:30) If you have time, though, you should listen to the whole thing! :)

Simpson, Farrell, and Mama Cuz!
(AKA Three out of Four of our Directors)

So yeah, that was my weekend. Little to no downtime. Then a week full of homework for about every class I have. Hm. Funny how that works...

So in other totally random news, allow me to introduce you to my new favorite thing related to Star Wars:                                               DARTH VADER AND SON.

No really. This book is awesome.

My favorite page?
                         Vader's Father's Day problems.

If you have the time and energy, go get it! It's awesome and will make you laugh. At least if you enjoy Star Wars.

Well, that's all I have for now.

Tomorrow me and a portion of the crew are gonna go support Jen and the rest of our winter guard friends at a guard competition, so that should be fun!! I'll try to post again on Sunday or Monday-ish.

-ish.

Well, my dearest readers, I have to go do things. I'm not quite sure what things exactly, but they will be awesome things. So have an awesome night, and an even awesomer weekend!!!

Strawberries and Superiors

Wow...
HI!
How's it going? That's great!!! So, guess who had a busy busy weekend? That's right, yours truly.

Why, Sarah, why exactly was your weekend so busy? Well, my dearest reader, I'm glad you asked. Here's why I was so very busy this weekend:

First, this Awesome Dude had a birthday on Saturday , so we went out to celebrate on Friday night!

And how exactly did we celebrate Tom's birthday? Well, obviously (jk I have no idea why this would be obvious), with a road trip and some sweet berries of straw!

Nikki, Me and Tom headed up in Tom's car after school got out. THAT, my friends, is what we call an interesting road trip... It ended up with us taking some random exits thanks to misleading restaraunt signs and Nikki yelling at every car on the road... Talk about your backseat driver!

We got bored while waiting for the concert to start. This is the only picture that Nikki looked good in (as in she's smiling and her eyes are open- she always looks good!), so of course me and Tom had to bomb it. :) That's what friends are for!
We all had hoodies on... that's all I have to say about this picture.
The group, minus me. That's right, my parents went with us. Be jealous.
Wow, what a good looking pair of twins right there. :)

The Casting Crowns concert was awesome. If you've never heard of them, you should go hear of them right now. :D

So then Saturday was Solo and Ensemble: Choir Edition. And of course, the best thing you could EVER do for your voice:
A Frosty from Wendy's.

YEEEEEEAH!

Anyways, I digress. (I do that a lot, don't I?)

Some of our dudes men guys warming up before our small ensemble performs.

Hanging out in the hallway. It's a day full of doing nothing and sitting around, then doing everything and sitting around some more. Fun stuff right there.

Right about now, if you're thinking "Hey! Sarah! You do WAAAAY too much Fine Arts stuff!" I'd say "You know? You're SO right! I do!"
But here I am, with another week full of crasy Fine Arts stuff.

It's a good thing I love it so much.

                                                                             EMILY!!!!

Also, I am proud to say that I got a Superior on my solos and the jazz ensemble I'm in (affectionately referred to as Little Chambers) also received a Superior! Videos hopefully coming soon!!!

So, I am here hoping that you have a very wonderful evening/week/until whenever I post again. Which should be soon.

Remember to tune in: Same Bat-Girl, Same Bat-Blog!!!!
